Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

o Will the current 2019/2020 rosters finish out the season?

Our hope is Yes. Our intention is to provide June/July Training and events/games to our current 2019/2020 teams, with the 2020/2021 season officially starting August 1, 2020. However, if the lockout is extended, this may cause the 2019/2020 season to not be completed.

o Who will be leading the evaluations and how are they forming the teams?

The current head coach and professional assistant from ALL teams in each age group, along with your new Head coach (if applicable) and our Zonal directors will be evaluating each player one by one in meetings to establish the rosters, they will be evaluated on the entire season (June-March).

o What criteria do you use to establish players placements and level of play?

We will asses each player on: Technique, Tactical, Physical and physco-social in addition to other areas: coach-ability, commitment to team and self development and other areas

o Will we get reimbursement or credit for our events being cancelled from 2019/20 season?

Yes, each returning player will receive a credit in the form of a coupon that will be subtracted from the final 2020/2021 season travel fee amount. The club is still waiting for communication from numerous leagues and tournaments on whether we will be refunded, credited or even provided no financial response

o Is there going to be player movement from teams throughout the season?

This is likely if we have players who we are still evaluating or players are developing quicker than others through this time and beyond into the summer

o How will GK’s be evaluated?

We will be leaning on our professional Goalkeeping staff who have worked closely each week with our goalkeepers, in addition with our current coaches and Zonal directors (as stated above)

o If I still owe Travel fees for the 2019/2020 season, what does that mean for my player?

West-Mont will communicate individually with those families; we have put a freeze on all financial owed fees to current families until the lockdown is lifted. Upon that time you will have to be in good standing minus the credit fee that will be applied for the 2020/2021 season (More information please contact Business Manager at Manager@Westmontunitedsoccer.org)

o Are you offering a financial aid program for the 2020/2021 season?

Yes, we will be taking all financial aid applications for next season now and moving forward, they will not be finalized until the season commences – please email Manager@Westmontunitedsoccer.org if you need an application
