Details:
US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a recreational sports program for children with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities offered only through local US Youth Soccer-affiliated soccer clubs, like West-Mont. TOPSoccer provides people with diverse abilities an opportunity to play soccer in a structured environment that is safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive.
Our 8-week program is led by Teresa Straffin, an elementary special education teacher, and Dave Stevenson, a local high school soccer coach and teacher. With the help of buddies, players participate in individualized soccer activities that are designed to keep them engaged and having fun. Each player receives a jersey and end-of-season medal.
This program is only possible thanks to our volunteer buddies, who are players (Intramural and Travel) within the club, age 10 and older. We're always looking for more buddies to help support our TOPSoccer athletes!
