Blue Devils Win 3v3 Live Soccer Tour in Philadelphia
Six members of the the Blue Devils played in the national 3v3 Live Soccer Tour this weekend.

The Blue Devils came out slow and expected an easy win.

With the win, the girls qualify for the 3v3 Live Soccer Tour National Finals in Las Vegas, NV. in January '09.

U10 Girls Cheetahs - Champions in the U10 Premier Division at the Montgomery Shoot for the Cure Tournament
The Cheetahs won 1st place in the U10 Premier Division at the Montgomery Shoot for the Cure Tournament on May 17-18.
Unfortunately, the tournament was rained out before the final game of their round-robin division.
They were looking forward to a re-match against Montgomery who beat them 1-0 in a rainy and muddy championship game at the Hempfield Fall Classic in November '07.
They had no goals scored against them in their 3 games resulting in their 1st place award.
This is the 5th tournament of the 2007-08 season where they have finished as champion or finalist adding to their very successful 2007-08 season in PAGS Division 1 with a record of 5-2-2.
With the addition of 6 new players, the Cheetahs are looking forward to an exciting 2008-09 season in PAGS and tournaments in PA, NJ and MD.
The new team will start out by playing in the Premier Soccer Classic at Eastern University on June 7th facing some of the best new U11 teams in the Philadelphia area.
West-Mont United Blue Devils Win EPYSA State Title
LANDISVILLE - EPYSA state cup competition began back in April. The girls advanced through the single elimination style tournament by defeating the York Premier Flames, the Lehigh Valley Blue Sparks, the PA Classics '95, and in the semi-finals, beating the
number five ranked team in the nation, the FC Bucks Revolution. In the five previous matches, the Blue Devils had only given up two goals and had found the back of the net eight times.
This was the finals, their biggest challenge to date, Lighthouse Express.
Ranked number one in the country, Lighthouse advanced through the tournament with relative
ease. The Blue Devils were anxious to get underway and play for the championship.
As the whistle blew and play began, the Lighthouse team moved the ball and
attacked quickly. Within minutes, they had scored first. After a second Lighthouse goal, the Blue Devils found
themselves down 0 - 2 half way through the first half. The girls had several
opportunities but the Lighthouse defense held. After a hand ball call deep in the Express end, Aley Kate McKinley changed the game's momentum by burying the
direct kick from thirty yards out. Going into the second half, the Blue
Devils came out quickly to take the lead 3 - 2 with
goals from Megan Giannopoulos and Rachel Yenney. With five minutes to play,
the Lighthouse team knotted the score 3 - 3. As both teams continued to push
for the win, the whistle blew and sent the game into overtime.
Both teams fought to score in the first ten minute overtime, but neither team
was able to find the back of the net. Midway through the second overtime,
Rachel Yenney played a ball over the top of the Lighthouse defense as Megan
Giannopoulos ran on to the ball. Going one-on-one with the Lighthouse keeper,
Giannopoulos shot far post and scored. Now leading 4 - 3 with five minutes
remaining, Lighthouse pushed everyone forward to tie the match. The Blue
Devils continued to play tough team defense led by their keeper Kelly O'Brien and the back four defenders.
As time expired, the West-Mont United team had done something no other team in
club history had done...won a State Championship. The Blue Devils were the
EPYSA State Champs. Hoisting the team trophy with the championship medals around their necks, the girls from West-Mont wept with tears of joy.
With the victory, the Blue Devils will represent Eastern Pennsylvania in the
upcoming Region 1 Championship in Portland, Maine the last week of June. Going
up against state champions from Rhode Island, Delaware, Eastern New York, Western Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maine, and New Hampshire; the Blue Devils will wear their West-Mont United uniforms with pride and remember
what got them there.....a total team effort. Not a single individual, but a
team of seventeen girls working together with a common goal.

U12 Blue Devils win Premier Division Championship Cup in Richmond, VA
The U12 West-Mont United Blue Devils headed south to Richmond, Virginia for the weekend to play in the Jefferson Cup, one of the most prestigious girls tournaments in the country. The Blue Devils won the Premier Division Championship and brought the cup home to West-Mont. Persistent pressure and being able to take advantage of scoring opportunities lead the girls to a record of 3 wins and 1 draw. The Blue Devils found the back of the net eight times while only giving up two goals in their four games.
The girls opened up on Saturday against a familiar team, the Pennridge Wild and when the whistle blew....came away with a draw, 1 - 1. Going in to the second game, the Blue Devils knew they had to come away with a win to have a chance for the championship. Facing the Mt. Laurel United Thunder, the girls had a decisive 3 - 0 win by consistently attacking the net.
Heading in to Sunday, the girls woke up to sleet and freezing rain. However, the conditions weren't going to stand in the way as the girls kept the momentum going by shutting the Hockessin Blast out 3 - 0. Needing a win to take the title, the girls faced a tough team from Virginia, the ASC Bandidts. Separated by a PK after a foul in the box and more great keeper play, the Blue Devils came out on top 1 - 0. Aggressive team defense proved to be the difference as the girls walked off the field with the win.
What a site to see, the West-Mont United Blue Devils hoisting the Jefferson Cup Championship Trophy with medals around their necks and celebrating their well deserved victory.
Congratulations girls, good luck in the upcoming State Cups.
U12 Blue Devils Wins Far Post 2008 United Indoor Cup
The West-Mont United U12 Blue Devils won the 2008 Leagues United Indoor Cup at The Far Post on February 9th by going 5 - 0 and only conceding five goals in the five games. The girls opened up with a big 2-0 win over a very familiar Hulmeville Xtreme team. Next up was York Premier, another tough opponent but the Blue Devils came away with a convincing 5-2 win. The girls continued through the bracket by playing team defensive and a well executed passing attack which resulted in wins over Horsham (4-2) and FC Revolution (5-0). Strong pool play advanced the Blue Devils to the finals where they met the winner of the other side of the group, the Pennridge Wild. The final match was exactly what the fans expected, a tough battle between two teams that were very familiar with each other. After twenty-four minutes, the horn sounded and the Blue Devils came out on top, 3-1. The girls played extremely well and went in to the tournament knowing they had a great chance of winning it. Congratulations to the Blue Devils on their Championship!
