2008 Information

Thank you to all the teams who played in our tournament this year. We hope you had an enjoyable experience. We look forward to your returning next year. We're interested in your feedback. Send any comments to our Tournament Director.

• Thank you for a very well run soccer tournament this past week-end. Our team had a great time...especially since we won the U13 girls division :-)
  Do you intend to post the results on www.gotsoccer.com since your tournament is listed there? Even if you do not do it for all the teams, we would appreciate if you could do it for us so that it counts in the ratings.

• I would like to thank West Mont Soccer Association for putting on the Hilltop tournament. It was a great experience for our boys.
  I do have a few suggestions / concerns around possibly improving future tournaments.
  Our team got into the top group (from first round) and won all three of their games (in the final round) and got second place. I understand these were the rules going in, but I feel there is a flaw in the scoring system when a 3-0 team can lose to a 2-1 team when they beat them head to head. It doesn't add up. If the Phillies lost the first 3 games of the world series 10-0, but won the next 4 games 1-0 they'd still be champs right? (aggregate goals only works for head to head) I really like the point system for the seeding, but I feel in the final round that it should only be used to break ties (like if two teams are 2-1). What I've had to tell my team was that we won the tournament but got second on the point scoring system, which is in fact 100% true. Champs are determined by wins, not by stats.
  Again we had an excellent time, because it's about playing good soccer, and we did that.. and had fun. It's not the color of the trophy but I still hope you consider changing the rules for next year.
