Training Frequently Asked Questions
What are the volunteer requirements to qualify for reimbursement?
The training reimbursement policy requires two volunteer responsibilities during the year.
- Each team must work a 1/2 day shift at the snack bar.
- Each team must work at the Battle At HillTop tournament.
Snack Bar Volunteer Policy
- All teams will be offered an opportunity to work one 1/2 day shift at the snack bar at the beginning of every Fall and Spring season.
- Once a team has worked the snack bar in either season, they are eligible to receive training reimbursement funds based on the previous year's training fund payout.
- A deadline date will be specified in each snack bar volunteer request letter sent via email, as a last date for regular sign-ups.
- After the deadline date specified has past, a second letter will go out again to all teams offering them the opportunity to earn an additional portion of the previous year's training fund payout for each additional time slot filled.
- Teams may sign-up for as many slots as are available.
- All time slots will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
How much funding is available per team?
For the soccer year 2008-2009 there is $416 available for each team based on income from the 2008 tournament and 2008 snack bar sales. In addition to the $416, each team is eligible to receive $20/player. A team with 16 players can receive an additional $320 and a team with 18 players $360.
What type of training is eligible for reimbursement?
Examples Include: camps, goalie training, specialized training sessions, etc. The money is intended for soccer skills training by a West-Mont United approved trainer. Any type of gym or fitness training will not be reimbursed. Facility rental will not be reimbursed if it is rental of the facility only. When does the training have to take place?
The funds are to be used for training that takes place from August 1 to July 31. Training can extend beyond July 31 but the commitment to the trainer must have taken place prior to July 31.
If training funds are not used, can they be carried over into the next period?
No, if funds are not used by July 31, they go back to the club.
Do all funds have to be used with one trainer or at one time?
No, you can have multiple trainers and training sessions until all of the funds for your team are used up.
How do I get reimbursed?
Get an invoice from the trainer and fill out the Training Reimbursement Form. If you have any questions on how to fill out the form or the reimbursement process, send an email to the Treasurer.

Check the Coaching & Training Requirement & Qualifications page for the most current list. The list is updated periodically so check back often for new trainers added.
