New Fundraiser Program offers Families Big Savings

Families now have the opportunity to cash in on significant savings at local merchants. West-Mont United has implemented a new fundraiser wherein each player purchases a Player’s Edge Gift Card when they register. The card offers discounts and real cash savings at many local restaurants and businesses. “This is a win-win situation for everyone,” says Brian Mitchell, Trustee of Marketing and newest member of the Board. “There will be 3 ‘key tags’ that you break off the card. The ‘key tags’ when used will, by themselves, cover the cost of the card. And by participating in just a few of the other savings opportunities listed on the card, parents have the chance to recoup their entire registration fee!” The card will list 20-25 merchants on the back, each offering various discounts and promotions. Some of the merchants being considered for the fundraiser are Texas Roadhouse, Applebee’s and McDonald’s. The card is good for one year, and can be used again and again at the same establishment. Another great thing about the card is that anyone can use it. Also, if desired, the card can be given away as a gift. There will be additional cards available for purchase.

“Running a soccer facility like HillTop Farm is very involved and there are many expenses to be paid that most folks don’t realize,” said Paul Lucas, Trustee of Fields and Property Development. “ Grass seed, fertilizer, weed prevention, field paint, tractors, machinery, goals, nets, insurance...the list goes on. We do most of the work ourselves and with parent volunteers, but the material expenses are still there. In order to provide not only a great soccer experience for the kids, but an important social aspect for development, it costs money.” The fundraiser will be implemented with the spring registration for the Intramural program, and with the fall registration for the Travel program.
